Lately I find myself dreaming about merrily peddling a long a sunny sidewalk on something akin to the above, I love the bright teal color and the clean lines, all that’s missing is a basket and a bell.

Camping Time
This past Saturday was spent camping in Huntsville State Park amid the green piney woods, the fresh air and still lake made for serene surroundings and made up for the full camp grounds. I enjoy the outdoors but my experiences with camping are limited to a few trips as a child and a handful of fraternity camping trips which were more of an outdoor bar experience then a true camping trip. That said I of course forgot to pack 2 major items, one of which was an oversight in my rush to get ready and the other just plain city girl stupidity. I forgot tennis shoes but packed my black military boots (to keep warm around the fire) and I wore grey ankle flat boots with denim shorts and white cami with a light weight navy hoodie to go on this adventure in camping. After my boyfriend teased me about my outfit and lack of camping packing skills he graciously offered to take me to the store to purchase jeans and a pair of sneakers, so that I would be properly outfitted for the outdoors. And although we never made it to our intended activity of trail hiking (we more or less sat around a campfire as we started in on our rum and Mexican cokes a bit too soon) it was wonderful to enjoy the surroundings of nature and sip on a cold a drink. Next time I plan on doing some trail riding and maybe a bit of kayaking, it'd be nice to camp for entire weekend and as the site at Huntsville State Park offers showers and bathrooms it wouldn't be so bad. Who knows maybe there’s an outdoorsmen yet in this city girl!
My "About Me" section became a little too long winded so I turned it into todays post!
I suppose you could say that I am what you would call an amalgam, a combination of things that usually don’t exist together but somehow haphazardly reside within me. I’m an avid fashion lover, who enjoys being out on the town in the swankiest places if only to show off my latest outfit but I’m equally comfortable posted up at a local dive bar or curled up at home watching an old black and white film. As free spirited and brash as I see myself I long for the charms of a bygone era, where leading man charm resonated in steadfast men like Cary Grant, Clark gable, and Gary Cooper. And yet find myself drawn to bohemian feminists such as Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin, who showed that great beauty, brains and fierce independence cohabitate extraordinarily. I believe Catherine Zeta Jones to be this generations brunette Grace Kelly, there is no other actress who is her equal in poise and talent. Kate Moss is my fashion muse and if anyone embodies a phoenix rising from the ashes it’s her. I enjoy reading old romance novels and exploring philosophy, even though at times I find myself so turned around as my ability to see both sides of situation is a gift and a curse. I love a great burger and fries but try my best to eat a healthy balanced diet in spite of my inner foodie’s craving for decadent rich delights. Dancing is a release for me and something that makes me so incredibly happy to my core, everyone should have a passion that they can find a bubble of perfection within even in the darkest of times. Don’t be fooled by my pop culture guilty pleasures or that my love of fashion somehow makes me shallow or materialistic. For me fashion is my personal artistic expression, my closet is my palette and my body is my canvas.

Stylish Sneaker Season
It's that perfect time of year where the sunshine’s and the skies are periwinkle blue, before the Texas heat creeps in and makes summer unbearably hot. The other day I took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a run (actually a brisk walk) in Memorial Park. It was my first time on the track and I now understand the appeal. The walk way may be slightly crowded but it also makes for great people watching and dog watching. Something about dogs always puts a smile on my face and soaking up all that glorious sunshine was a welcomed change from the musky gym. I am going to try to take advantage of the Memorial track, and add it in to my workout rotation of hot yoga, weights, and treadmill. Which means I will be in need of proper running shoes, I have a perilous relationship with running shoes. I tend to base my choice more on fashion then comfort and I have a hard time paying triple digits for sneakers, but alas if I'm going to work up to actually running outdoors the time has come to shell out the cash for a worthy pair. After pursing the internet I've narrowed it down to a few options and I dare say they aren't as drool worthy as a pair of heels but they are a statement pieces none the less.
